Second Screen Gaming Coming soon on Steam

Per-game profiles that apply when the game starts

One game needs its sound kept on, another needs to sit borderless on your left screen, a third needs its controller in the background. Setting that up every time you launch is exactly the chore a profile removes.

How a game gets a profile

Start the game, then open Second Screen Gaming: running games are found automatically. Pick the game and turn on the fixes it needs.

From then on the game is listed under your saved games, even while it is closed, and its fixes can be changed without launching it. That matters for configuration fixes in particular, because a game reads its settings when it starts.

What happens when the game starts

Configuration fixes are written into the game's own settings, so they are already in place. Runtime assists, such as the focus assist and the borderless fit, are re-applied by the tray agent, which recognizes the game by its executable and attaches them within seconds of it starting.

Turn on Start with Windows and this works without ever opening the main window.

Copy one game's setup to another

Under a game's fix list, every other game with fixes turned on appears as a button. One click applies that game's fixes here with the same options, such as the chosen screen for the borderless fit.

Only fixes this game is offered carry over, and nothing already turned on is turned off.

Undo is one switch

Turning a fix off is the same switch that turned it on. Configuration changes are put back setting by setting, so undoing one fix never undoes another, and an untouched backup of every file is kept from before the first edit.
