Per-game profiles that apply the moment a game starts

One game needs its sound kept on, another needs to sit borderless on your left screen, a third needs its controller in the background. Setting that up every time you launch is exactly the chore a profile removes.
How a game gets a profile
Start the game, then open Second Screen Gaming: running games are found automatically. Pick the game and turn on the fixes it needs.
From then on the game is listed under your saved games, even while it is closed, and its fixes can be changed without launching it. That matters for configuration fixes in particular, because a game reads its settings when it starts.
A game is recognized by where its executable is installed, so a game moved to another folder or drive is set up again as a new one.
What happens when the game starts
Configuration fixes are written into the game's own settings, so they are already in place. Runtime assists, such as the focus assist and the borderless fit, are re-applied by the tray agent, which recognizes the game by its executable and attaches them within seconds of it starting.
Turn on Start with Windows and this works without ever opening the main window. Leave Close to tray on in Settings, as it is by default: with it off, closing the window also stops the tray agent and every assist with it.
Copy one game's setup to another
Under a game's fix list, every other game with fixes turned on appears as a button. One click applies that game's fixes here with the same options, such as the chosen screen for the borderless fit.
Engine fixes usually carry over between games on the same engine, while a fix written for one specific game does not. The app reports anything it could not copy, such as a fix blocked by anti-cheat, and controller assistance still asks for its own acknowledgment.
Undo is one switch
Turning a fix off is the same switch that turned it on. Configuration changes are put back setting by setting, so undoing one fix never undoes another, and an untouched backup of every file is kept from before the first edit.
Remove from saved undoes every fix the game has on and takes it off the list.
Common questions
Can a game have more than one profile?
No. Each game keeps one set of fixes, which you can change at any time from the saved list.
Does the main window need to stay open?
No. The tray agent does the work, and with Start with Windows turned on it is running before you launch anything.
